Business Watch The Bradenton Police Department has a program that is similar to a Neighborhood Watch, but it’s for businesses. It’s called The Chain. For more information, call the Bradenton Police Department Crime Prevention Unit at (941) 741-3041 or email Officer Kimberly Camacho at email@example.com.
BPD offers guest speakers The Police Department has created a Public Speaking Bureau that will allow any local group or organization to request a guest speaker from the police force. For more information, please contact Rose Hedberg at 941-932-9357 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Neighborhood Watch Program was established to unite neighborhoods within the community. Although the goal has always been to open communication between residents and police, a related benefit has been crime reduction.
This structured educational program certifies the group through a series of lectures. Parameters are established so that participants are aware of guidelines and appropriate measures to take in a variety of situations.
Simply put, the program involves citizens interacting with their neighborhoods and government. People are encouraged to talk to each other and the police, rather than isolating themselves in their homes. The goal is for all of us to be responsible for each other.
